We Did Not Start the Fire

"We did not start the fire," as the Billy Joel song goes, but we are left with the ashes. 

Our children will be the first generation that will not prosper more than their parents. America's employment has for a long time been consistently been sold overseas.  Manufacturing employment is almost null. There are very little companies left for our children to start at the bottom and work their way up. Mom and pop stores in local neighbors are quickly fading leaving another void for teenagers to seek employment.Adult children cannot afford to leave the nest as the cost of living has skyrocketed. 

Talk to your neighbors, your family members, and your friends.  Those of us in our forties, fifties and beyond are carrying a heavy load.  Many of us are also caring for our parents as their nest eggs were taken away too. Our pensions, our home equity, and our savings have disappeared. 

We are paying for illegal immigrants who came to this country and received a free ride.  They know how to work the system and receive welfare and health care benefits.  Just go to your local hospital's emergency room. They state that "they no speakathe English," when they need health care.  No bills come to their homes as they do not have an address.  If a legal American falls on hard times they must jump through hoops that even a circus performer could not comprehend.

We the People, For the People have continually allowed the political leaders to take advantage of us.  We send billions upon billions to other countries who want to see our country destroyed. 

Our political leaders in the Senate and Congress for the most part are second or third generation political players.  The Kennedys and the Rockfellers are a prime example.  In the State of New York our Governor's father was also Governor of this state.  Why is it that out of the millions of citizens in New York a father and son were able to get elected?  Could it be that they have the politcal pull and financial resources to go up against an average Joe who truly wants to help the middle class and low income legal citizens who have fallen on hard times.Why is it that our veterans that have fought for our country do not have the same rights as illegal immigrants when they need assistance?  Could it be that the political leaders tell the illegal immigrants what they want to hear to get their vote? 

The 2012 election year is quickly approaching.  Once again, it is the same players who are mostly lawyers, career politicians, or the second or third generation elite.  They live in McMansions while most of us are struggling not to lose our homes to foreclosure.  They dine on lobster and filet mignon while most of us wonder how we will afford to put a meal on the table. They have free health care for life and vote for raises for themselves while most of us are losing our employment. They have left us with ashes instead of the lumber that is needed to build homes, factories, and neighborhood stores.

 Our educational, health care, and so many other systems have been taken over by the "experts" who only care about themselves and their own political agendas.  Research on your own the salaries and what companies most of our politicians are involved in. There are 535 people in the Senate and House of Representatives.  According to the 2011 census there are 311,800,000 Americans.  I may not be a mathematician but that equals to about 1 person speaking for about 5,883,010 million Americans.

Our elected officials circumnavigate the political system for their own agendas.  I, like most middle class and low income Americans are done.  We have no more to give for the future of America.  The nonsense that is debated in the House and Senate can no longer be accepted.  They talk about issues that make no sense.

 First and foremost we must put Americans first.  Home ownership, job creation, and making sure our legal citizens have a chance at the American dream.We can no longer send billions to other countries that do not want to take a stand against their own leaders.  Our ancestors fought hard and scarified much so that the next generations could prosper.  They did not do what they did to pay for illegal immigrants and other countries to take advantage of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. 

Look only to the history books and what is being taught to your children.  The same old players are deciding the fate of all Americans.  Speak your mind, vote, get involved and do not let the few conquer and destroy the basis of America.The volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, landslides and other natural disasters are occurring like never before.  We as Americans have to put our country first.  Without the "American Dream" the world can no move forward.
