Mega Million Madness

Mega Millions and how it would have changed so many lives.

Yes, money can and does help.  Last week there was much excitement about the lottery.  People waiting on line and purchasing more tickets than they usualy do so they may win a lot of money. What touched my heart is that most people who were talking about if they won were not thinking of themselves.

Of course, first they would help their families and then their friends.  What I keep hearing though is that many would donate to help people they did not even know.  After all if someone did win it would be an amount of money that one person could not possibly spend in a lifetime.

People who are truly struggling realize how having extra money can ease the stress of day to day life.  Again, most want enough to not have to worry about borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.  Yet, most  were thinking of how they would be able to help others truly in need and make a difference.

If someone was the sole winner of this lottery there would be so many ways that they could reach out and help so many others.  We all know so many who are trying to get by because of losing employment, perhaps being a single mom, being hit with a disease that has money costs, or perhaps life has just not been fair lately for them.

This lottery could, if put into the right hands changed so many lives.  Most middle class Americans know the strain of putting food on the table, trying to have their children have a better life than they did, and the high cost of utlities, medical insurance, repairs to a home and other necissitates to get by. We do not want it all.  We only want the simple pleasures of life that we have worked so very hard for.

If I had won, of course, I would have helped my family and friends.  Then I would think what charities would this money help the most.  Diseases and causes like diabetes, autism, spine injuries and heart conditions would be at the top of my list as this is what I have dealt with  or known people in my life affected by them.Money does not buy happiness but it does ease the pain and stresses when you truly do not have money.

I, like many others I know, would have bought a house for a family truly in need and paid all the expenses.  I would have given some single moms and/or dads enough money to ease the pain of trying to feed their children and providing a roof for them over their heads.  I would have helped our Veterans who truly do not get the monies they need for serving our country.

We live in a country where there is true wealth yet there are many greedy people in politics, big businesses and people who know how to work the system for THEMSELVES.

I did not hear any of the last paragraph above when people were talking about if they won.  I only heard wonderful ideas and dreams of the people who were playing the lottery and what they would do to help so many others. Money does not buy happiness but it truly helps when you do not have it.  Let us all keep dreaming and thinking of what we would do if we won mega millions.

Most Americans just want peace in their lives, a chance for their children to do better then them, simple vacations to share with families and friends, food on the table and a roof over their head and to have a house that they can call home.Let us thank everyone who shared their ideas and dreams to touch so many lives if they had won the mega millions.
