Wife of WWE Champ Hits Smithown Main Street With Divine Shop

Colette Foley, wife of wrestling star and local, Mick Foley revamps Divine Consign clothing shop.

Colette Foley received an email a few months ago that got her thinking that maybe she wanted to step her toe back into running her own business.

The wife of pro-wrestling star Mick Foley and mom of four was certainly busy enough, but her past modeling career and her itch to help woman successfully dress affordably won over prompting her to take over west Main Street’s Design Consign.

“The owners needed to leave the business and I thought, why not,” said Foley. “I worked as a model for 15 years with the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, which gave me the opportunity to work with top designers.”

Foley, also a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, dug in with two hands and began revamping the shop. The store, still under the renovation process, will grand reopen sometime in September. Meanwhile, Foley with the help of her son, is adding inventory, building displays and adding a bridal suite for moms and brides looking for the all important dress.

The store is a mix of high end consignment items from top designers like Coach, Chanel, Gucci and Henri Bendel, to name a few, and new items and accessories.

“We would like to have what we call pre-made outfits, where women can come in and see a whole look put together,” said Foley. “Sometimes after kids, women lose themselves. We want to help them find out what looks good on them and how best to dress.”

Those consigning with the shop can leave their inventory with Foley for a season, who is working on an online system where consignors can check on their items to see if they have sold.

“We are working on revamping the website and getting everything in order,” said Foley, who recently sold a $6,500 Vera Wang bridal gown. “I want to be taken seriously,”

Foley, once a small gym owner, thought she would never get back into owning her own business, but said her husband is behind her one hundred percent.

“I want to give women a personal shopping experience and boost their self-esteem. It has to be done right or I am not going to do it.” she said.

Divine Consign is located at 37 West Main Street in Smithtown and is open Monday-Saturday. They can be reached at (631) 656-0686
