What Do You Want To See Here? [Empty in Kings Park]

Do you miss Gasparro's Pizzeria?

What used to be pizza with a view is now empty and vacant, waiting for a renter.

This San Remo eatery and is now listed on MSLI.com with a monthly rental price of $2,300.

Did you frequent Gasparro's? What do you think should go here in its place? Tell us in the comment section below.

I think a small Deli/supermarket would be great. There used to be one on St. Johnland that was very convenient for those of us who live in the San Remo area.

There was a deli there before Gasparos. Many of us boaters stopped there for sanwiches and soda. There was also a lobster fish store on Riviera. Unless there are customers a business cannot survive. The store on St. Johnsland was convient in the early days. I believe this property was owned by the lateJoe Marola. I enjoyed Gasparos. Good pizza one of the better ones.

Boating/fishing supply or a clam shack.

Jennifer, Thanks a lot and also being a good editor and providing the girls with the proper print recognition. The parents of the KP volleyball team had to do a massive e-mail campaign to the editor and sports writers of Newsday, to get the girls the print recognition they deserved. They won the county championship on Wed. night at about 10:30pm, which was too late to have the story in Thursday's paper, which is understandable. However in Friday's paper they had a whole article about Wantagh which won the Nassau Class 'A' championship and not a word about Kings Park's victory on Wed. Even worse was when they wrote at the bottom of Wantagh's article that Wantagh would be facing the Suffolk County 'A' division champs, and not mention Kings Park by name. At least they are making it up to the girls, they said "Win or lose tonight, we'll produce a special commemorative page, suitable for framing, honoring Kings Park's Suffolk or Long Island championship and provide as many glossy and newsprint copies as parents and players need for their scrapbooks and frames. (This page will not be published in Newsday, however, unless the girls win state, in which case it will be updated for our Meet the State Champs special section.) "

Yes, A Bait & Tackle store possibly, maybe sell sodas & snacks for the passing boaters. Place a bouy out in the river pointing the way. I wonder what it would take to get a small dock installed across the way for the boaters to moor to? The only problem I see there is it would probably have to be a seasonal store, not open all year long & making rent during the closed months might present a problem...

Perfect idea John! The canoe traffic would love it as well.

Since I was a kid, I always thought that would be a cool idea. It'd be nice to have like a little "rest-stop" off the river for boaters & canoers (is that a word?) to regroup, stock up, catch some shade & a little snack. Set up some picnic tables across the road on that little shaded spot if the town allows. A small floating dock to moor to would be the key...

the pizza was good there, but it was too isolated to compete with all the other pizzerias in KP.
