It didn't take very long for another eatery to fill the vacancy that Ji Sushi & Chinese Food left on the Kings Park-Smithtown border in October of last year as Subway is set to take its place.
Signs announcing the fast food chain's impending arrival were posted late last week on the front windows and rear door of the store, located at 1217 Route 25A next to the Kings Park Animal Hospital.
There are five other Subway locations in the area: 56 Main Street in Kings Park, 173 Smithtown Bypass in Smithtown, 1020 West Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown, 140 East Main Street in Smithtown, and 745 Middle Country Road in Saint James.
There is no set opening date posted.
Ji Sushi & Chinese Food opened in the soon-to-be-home to Subway in June of last year, closed in August, and was cleared out by October. An employee of the Asian eatery, who declined to give his name, stated the owner of the business "just wanted to close."
