Here's what has already closed and list of what is still open.

Closings

  • Smithtown Special Library District: Closed Monday
  • Kings Park Central School District: Closed Monday and Tuesday

Still Open

  • Kings Park Hardware: Will remain open until 7 p.m. The store still had some batteries left, though D batteries had sold out at about 10 a.m. Monday morning. The store is trying to get addtional generators, but as of Monday at noon, they are sold out. Call the store for the most updated information.
  • Anderson's Deli: Plans to stay open for the duration of the storm. "The deli will stay open we have a generator if power goes out," said owner, Mike Franchi. "Even during the storm we will stay open for the working people." Dixie's Smokehouse and Sombrero's will depend on the storm and power outages.
  • Key Food: Normal hours until 9 p.m., but an employee at the store doubts they will be open that long. The supermarket is out of bread but still has milk and water.
  • Celtic Crossing Tavern open all day and all night. Happy hour from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Food from Bella cucina and acoustic guitar.

Apparently you are not the only one this is happening to. From what I understand if these signs areRead More on a main drag somehow they are disappearing in the middle of the night. Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!

That's funny, I spend a small fortune for school supplies for my kids. I am also asked to buy extraRead More for the kids who don't have., which I gladly do. The "society letting kids down" comment is a little over the top!!
