Sarin Restaurant Temporarily Closes

Kings Park Thai eatery says family emergency prompted the close.

A sign hanging in the doorway of local Thai restaurant, says the restaurant is closed due to a family emergency.

An employee Patch spoke with at the restaurant's Greenvale location confirmed that the restaurant is closed, but that it would be temporary. That location has been in business for over 15 years; the Kings Park restuarant opened in Jan. of 2011.

The employee estimated the closure would last one or two months.

That spot is always changing. No one seems to make a go of it.

Sarin has been there for almost 20 years!

Sarin has been closed since right after New Years, hopefully will reopen, excellent Thai food.Unfortunately, don't think KP knows how to appreciate.

Too spicy for my bum stomache (I suffer from GERD) but I've heard it's one of the best Thai places around from several people.

As usual JKM is not correct. The building in Kings Park may have been there 20+ years, but Sarin only about 2.

You are correct. I like Thai food and this was at least the third or fourth restaurant that has been in that building...food always good...maybe location n/g

Is there anything Thai-wise that's NOT spicy? I'm a huge fan of chinese food, I don't know how close in common they are. But I have heard great things about this place in the past...

And as usual, you jump to assumptions while you have no idea what I was talking about. SARIN itself has been in business almost 20 years. Did I say Sarin was in KINGS PARK for almost 20 years? No. I don't think I did. Although I'm pretty sure it was some sort of Chinese/Thai resturaunt beforehand. I didn't realize I'd have to be so exclusively precise while people like you have nothing better to do than scour over my posts with a fine toothed comb...

Excellent Thai food. Everyone should try at least once, most will return. Their Fried Calamari beats any of the local Italian places, by the way. Patch listing says BYOB, but they have full bar.

Probably has alot to do with the lack of parking in the area...
KPLifer February 28, 2013 at 09:51 pm
There is NO parking problem in Kings Park! There is a problem with everyone thinking they have to park in front of the store they are visiting.
Susan Frances February 28, 2013 at 10:01 pm
Yummy food. Just wish they would turn down the lights... way too bright!
I agree the fried calamari, aka "squid rings" is the best! Give it a try... support the locals. And plenty of parking...side streets, train station.

KPLifer needs to actually GET a life!!
John K Massaro February 28, 2013 at 10:26 pm
So I take it they served more than Thai food there?
John K Massaro February 28, 2013 at 10:43 pm
Thank you Stevo. Is it just me or does it seem like Lifer is attempting to pick a fight with me? I don't see where I provoked him at all in here, yet he seems to have a problem with me...

Not all food is spicy hot...you can avoid the real spicy food a they have them marked as such on the menus

Excellent! Thanx for the info! Hopefully if they re-open, I'm going to definitely try the place out!

I have enjoyed eating at Sarin a number of times. Thai food is wonderful and need not be hot. Now, all my girlfriends like it too! .
