LaVida Massage Under New Ownership

Locals Jessica and Jim Nuzzo now control the business, which opened in November of last year.

LaVida Massage is now under new ownership.

The massage center on Route 111 in Smithtown, which was opened by , is now under the control of locals Jessica and Jim Nuzzo.

In an emailed statement, the Nuzzos said they plan on revamping the interior, image, staff, and services of the center. The Nuzzos are also looking to add roughly 10 more employees to its current staff of 13.

“We didn’t want to see another business close its doors in this town," said Jessica. "Additionally, we see tremendous potential in this business opportunity. With over 70-percent of the general population having never had a massage, we see LaVida and its gender-neutral, family friendly atmosphere as a win for us and for the community."

With LaVida under new ownership, the new owners will host a block party-styled community event in the Hillside Village Shopping Center on Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., complete with free 10-minute chair massages, as well as special pricing and package offers. There will also be raffles from local businesses, food provided by Uncle Giuseppe’s and The Lite Choice, and an appearance from 97.5 WALK FM radio from 10 a.m. to noon with music and prizes.

LaVida Massage is located at 87 Route 111 in Smithtown, and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
