The once popular eatery is the lone vacant storefront in a vibrant small strip of businesses.

The Hilltop Center on West Main Street is missing a once familiar business – .

The now defunct Smithtown location of the eatery – known for its quick and tasty chicken, ribs, sandwiches, burgers and sides – was once a prominent food business among other local fast food chains and restaurants, from across the street to  on the corner next to the strip of stores. I pass this storefront every day on my way home from work. It's a really nice building that appears very well maintained... unlike many of the other empty stores on Main Street. Seems to me that it is a GOOD place for a store since like myself, I make that left on Edgewood to avoid our "new and improved" traffic pattern in town. How about a gourmet dessert shop? Something nice that you can either buy a cake or pie to go, or sit in to enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. Call it wishful thinking, but when that new gymnastics place opens and i'm waiting around for my kid during a session, I'd like a place like that nearby... Besides, let's face it, there's no good place to get dessert anymore in Smithtown. Right now, I go to Garguilos Bakery in St. James if I need something.

How about a small Quality type shop (not a dollar store please) where one can run in and purchase small items of clothing, ie socks, undies, T shirts/shorts, leotards etc (especially with a gym across the way now!) ??...the type of store where they carry a little bit of everything...there are no clothing type shopping stores close by at all. I would be happy to support a local merchant!
