Dicks Sporting Goods to Occupy Former Pathmark Location

Sports and fitness retailer expected to open sometime this year.

Dick's Sporting Goods is coming to Commack within the year, filling the , according to a leasing agent for the property.

Crews have already begun work on the store, according to Robert Goldfeder, director of leasing for Basser-Kaufman Real Estate Developers. Though the new location is slated to open sometime in 2012, no specific date has been set just yet.

There has been much speculation surrounding the new tenant since spring, leaving the shopping center's biggest store empty.

Dick's will serve as the anchor store of the shopping center on Jericho Turnpike.

The sports retailer store will bring added competition to and , which already have established locations in Commack.

Dick's representatives could not be reached for comment Thursday.

You have to apply online at Dick's website = websitehttp://www.dickssportinggoods.jobs/stores/index.asp?user_id= They have listing of locations where they are hiring but Commack is not listed yet. You can still apply even If there is no current position, just fill out the Job Agent profile. So if they post a position matching your skills you can be notified immediately via email.

I agree with Anthony Z - Commack is in sore need of decent food establishments. Whenever anyone asks me where to eat, I can't recommend any restaurant that is consistently good.

worst management ever , the manager talk down to you like they are the king of the sport world ...bad enough experince i will never shop there again nore will the people who encounter the manager MARK he is the worst
