4 Places to Buy the iPhone 5 in Kings Park

Apple's much anticipated iPhone 5 is coming out on Sept. 21.

The next generation iPhone is coming out later this month, Apple announced Wednesday, and there a few places in the Kings Park area to get your hands on the latest gadget.

The Apple website points customers to  and on Veterans Memorial Highway are licensed Apple retailers who carry the iPhone line of products.

The smartphone officially goes on sale Sept. 21 at 8 a.m., but all stores may not stock the iPhone 5 immediately.

If you're a Verizon subscriber, you can head down Jericho Turnpike to the Verizon retailer in East Northport, just after Larkfield Road in the Sears shopping Center.

You can also purchase the new smartphone from the Apple Experts themselves if you are willing to make the trip to the Apple Store at the Smith Haven Mall. But don't say we didn't warn you: The store is usually crowded on regular days—it will likely be packed.

The new iPhone is thinner and lighter than the last two generations, but it is taller to accommodate the bigger screen, which is up from 3.5 inches. Apple says its processing speed is much faster than its predecessors, as well.

The iPhone 5 starts at $649.00, but the price can come down to as low as $200 with a cellular plan subscription.

iPhone 5 sales could boost economic growth in the U.S. by a third of a percentage point during the fourth quarter, J.P.Morgan anticipates. However, NPR's Planet Money says J.P.Morgan's analysis is faulty, predicting that most who splurge on the new product before the end of the year will likely cut back on other spending, making it a zero-sum game.

Do you know other wireless stores in the Kings Park area that carry the iPhone? Please leave a comment below.
