Whiz Kid's Key To Awesomeness:   Sean excels in both the classroom and on the field. Sean's varsity soccer coach, Thomas Nally, describes Sean as the epitome of a hardworking student-athlete.

"Every year he improves as a student and soccer player and it has been my pleasure to coach him for six years.”  Sean also participated in winter track and is presently the captain of the high school varsity lacrosse team.

Sean has also found success in the classroom, presently retaining a 97 weighted average. He has completed three AP Social Studies classes, AP Composition and AP Biology.

He has been accepted into the US Coast Guard Academy and will be playing soccer for the them.  Leo Ostebo, Director of the ,  notes that only 320 out of 9,000 applicants gain admission.

“Sean is an all American student,” Ostebo, who mentors kids interested in the program says “in every manner, both academically and athletically.” Sean’s certain success “will make it easier for other Kings Park kids to follow after him,” Ostebo explains.

Sean says his key to success is time management and focus. “When you’re busy on the fields, you do well in the classroom because you have to just get down to work.”  Sean is also a member of the National Honor Society and has received the prestigious Suffolk Zone Physical Education Award.

Even with all his athletic and academic achievements, Sean knows the importance of giving back to the community.  He volunteers as a camp counselor at St. Joseph’s Summer Camp and is responsible for the interns at the Kings Park Heritage Museum. Sean spends time with family, friends and his younger brother, Connor, who he proudly says Patch will be interviewing in several years as the ultimate whiz kid.
