Where to Drink and Dine on Parade Day

Luck isn’t always enough, even for the Irish. For a sure bet, try some of these town favorites to fill up or chill out. The parade starts at noon on Saturday, but the party starts early and will likely continue to the wee morning hours.

This pub opens at 8 a.m. so let the revelry begin. Go inside and grab a drink, the food is free. Hot dogs with sauerkraut and corned beef and cabbage will be served along with plenty of drink specials.

You better be hungry, really hungry for this special. All you can eat corned beef and cabbage special with boiled potatoes, Irish soda bread and a drink, all for $13.95. Visit them after the parade.

Word on the street is that this is the place to go for corned beef and cabbage, but we can’t vouch for that. Be the judge and let us know. Sliced corned beef brisket and green cabbage platter with Irish soda bread, carrots and potatoes. Open 5 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Edelweiss will be serving Irish bangers and corned beef sandwiches. There will also be a drawing  to enter during the parade for a chance to win one of four corned beef and cabbage dinners to be picked up by March 17. 

An outside table will be set up for parade goers to purchase corned beef and cabbage sandwiches, cookies as well as t-shirts. They will be set up by 9a.m.

Past Times Bar and Grill

This local tavern will be serving $4 Killians and Guinness pints as well as $3 Jameson shots. Expect more specials on St. Patrick's Day. The bar is a local favorite and has begun a collection for the family of Seamus Byrne. If you find yourself seated at the bar, throw a dollar in the jar and help out a family in need. Tell them Kelly Firefly sent you.

With a name like Shanahan’s… This place is pulling out all the stops. Live Irish music, Irish dancing, bagpipes, corned beef and cabbage as well as t-shirt giveaways. Heck, they even have a float in the parade. The fun starts at 1pm.

This place will have your Irish or not so Irish eyes smiling. The Suffolk County Police Department Pipe Band will be performing there after the parade. DJ Tom Frail starts the music at 3 p.m. and continues into the evening. Get ready to kick up your heels with some Irish step dancers at 6:30 p.m. Free corned beef and cabbage and giveaways as well.
