Weekend Spotlight: Strut Your Mutt & Tote Your Tabby Pet Parade

Commack-Kings Park Rotary holds pet parade to raise funds for children in need.

This Sunday the will hold its 1st Annual Strut Your Mutt & Tote Your Tabby Pet Parade at Blydenburgh County Park, from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Rotary International is the world's first service club organization made up of volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio throughout the world.

All net proceeds from the pet parade will benefit Rotary charities such as the Myanmar Clean Water Project - providing clean water to orphans left behind in the Tsunami, and to the Smithtown Animal Shelter.

Pets and their owners are welcome to participate in fun and games. Participants will get a tee-shirt, and there will be prizes in several categories.  

All pooches must be on a leash no longer than 6’ and must be under control at all times. Pets must have vaccinations and be over 6 months old. As always, participants must clean up after their pets.

Come on down, meet other pet owners, visit the vendors and join in the fun.

When:    Sunday, September 25, 2011

Time:      Noon to 5:00 p.m. (parade starts at 1:00 p.m.)

Where:  Blydenburgh County Park, Veterans Memorial Highway, Smithtown

Price:     Pre registration - $20 per participant, on the day of the parade- $25

Why:      To enjoy a great day with your pet and help raise money for those less fortunate
