Weekend Spotlight: History Tour Of The Nissequogue River State Park

Take a trip back in time while walking the boulevard of the historic former Kings Park Psychiatric Center.

On Sunday, September 25th, New York State Park’s Long Island Regional Environmental Education will lead a tour along the boulevard of the historic former Kings Park Psychiatric Center. 

Experience first hand what makes this park so unique during this 3 mile walk. 

The fee for this adult oriented program, ages 18 and older only, is $4 dollars. Vehicle use fees are due upon arrival during the fee collections season.

Registration is required and can be done up to and including Sunday morning by calling the Environmental Education Office at (631) 581-1072.

It is suggested that participants bring sunscreen, a bottle of water, comfortable walking shoes, and a camera.

The History Tour is an opportunity for adults to learn about the history surrounding the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center. 

 

When:   Sunday, September 25, 2011

Time:     1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Price:     $4 per adult, Vehicle use fees are due upon arrival during the fee collections season
