Kings Park Residents Petition Town for More Parking

Kings Park residents have started a grassroots effort to get Town of Smithtown officials to create more parking in the downtown area. 

Councilman Bob Creighton said he has received a petition with the signatures of more than 600 residents asking the town board to consider purchasing land along Pulaski Road to create an additional municipal parking lot at the Nov. 21 town board work session. 

Kings Park Creamery Closes Its Doors

If you are the kind of person who eats ice cream even in the winter, you might be out of luck in Kings Park. 

The Creamery, owned and operated by the Russo family of Kings Park, has put its business on Kings Park's Main Street. A sign reading "For Sale" has been posted in its front window last week. 

No Second Public Hearing Necessary for Whisper Landing

Proposed plans for Whisper Landing assisted living facility will go up for a second round of public scrutiny despite extensive changes to the plans. 

Smithtown Town Board voted 3-2 on Nov. 22 against holding second public hearing on the developer St. Johnland Development Group's application to build 136-bed assisted living facility on Route 25A and River Heights Drive despite extensive changes. 

Community Lights Town Menorah to Celebrate Hanukkah

The holiday season has arrived in Kings Park, and lighting the way is the town's menorah. 

Kings Park Chamber of Commerce and Kings Park Jewish Center came together on Sunday with the community to light the town's menorah in Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street. 

12 Kings Park Athletes Sign Commitments

A dozen Kings Park athletes have taken the first step towards continuing their careers in college. 

Twelve Kings Park High School athletes recently signed commitments to play sports at the collegiate level next year.
