9 Cars Get Tires Slashed at Smithtown Elks Lodge
The tires of nine cars were slashed during a retirement party at The Smithtown Elks Lodge Friday night according to police. 

Suffolk County Police said they received nine reports of vehicles with slashed tires at the Elks Lodge on June 7. Eight cars were reported with one slashed tire and one had two tires slashed.

Update: Landing Avenue Bridge Work Begins End of July
The bridge will be closed to traffic in July for an estimated three-weeks.

According to Suffolk County Spokeswoman Vanessa Baird-Streeter, the project will address concrete that is lose or falling onto the structural surface of the deck and underside of the bridge.

“It is a rehabilitation project, not a replacement,” she said.

Baird said the existing structure is safe and that the work is part of normal maintenance.

Man Accused of Skimming Kings Park ATM
A man leaving court on charges of skimming a Kings Park ATM was re-arrested Wednesday on new charges.  

Suffolk County Police  arrested Marian Serban, a Romanian citizen, after an appearance in First District Court in Central Islip. He was at the courthouse on charges of skimming an Astoria Federal Savings bank ATM on Main Street in Kings Park. He had been arrested March 13.

Old Glory Back Where She Belongs
The Stars and Stripes will proudly hang again just in time for graduation and Flag Day after a flag dedication was given at Kings Park High School on Wednesday.

This flag replaces the one that was stolen back in September by two thieves who were captured on video, but never caught by police. 

Dogs Rule at Lindsey's Groom Room
There's no such thing as a bad dog at Lindsey's Groom Room, a local dog groomer and pet supplies store, on Main Street in Kings Park. 

Owner Lindsey Snyder has been grooming dogs since she was a kid growing up in Kings Park. Snyder's father owned pet stores and the love for animals stayed with her throughout her life.

On Your Mark: Runners Sprint to the Finish for Sunset Run
Over 300 local runners, walkers and even strollers turned out on Saturday for Nissequogue River State Park's Sunset Run.

Iffy weather might have kept a few away, but Mother Nature shone done and gave the runners a sunny and dry race.
