The Week Ahead: Summer Concerts, Environmental Adventures

Here's what's happening in and around Kings Park this week.

SCOPE Environmental Adventure Marine Scene
Learn all about the marine creatures that live under the sea.  Open for children going into grades 1-8 in September 2013. Each camper will experience a beach day, guest speakers, intramural activities, hiking and much more. Monday, 8:30 a.m. Sunken Meadow State Park.

Pool Night - Safe Summer Nights Program
Pool Night will be a safe, supervised, drug and alcohol free environment where our youth can cool off in the pool, while making new friends and playing games. Monday,  6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the Smithtown Landing Country Club.

Summer Concert Series at the Brush Barn
Join the Smithtown Community Band as they celebrate their 27th season of free outdoor summer concerts under the stars. The Smithtown Community Band in partnership with the Smithtown Historical Society and The Rotary Club of Smithtown-Sunrise is proud to present a performance of classic overtures, rousing show tunes, rock & roll, marches and jazz. Tuesday, 8 p.m.

H2O Wednesday Local Bounty Wine Dinners in July
H2O Seafood Grill gives its popular and year-round weekly wine dinners a local twist in July when Executive Chef Michael Meehan and BRG Beverage Director Paulo Villela wed Long Island bounty.

Each three-course wine dinner, with ingredients from local farms and shores, is joined with three wines from one local vineyard including Bedell (July 17), Macari  (July 24) and Raphael (July 31).  Click on the link above for the full menu.

DDI Film Forum presents: SHINE
Catch a performance of the award winning movie Shine, Thursday at 7:00 PM    at the Developmental Disabilities Institute 99 Hollywood Drive in Smithtown.

SMITHTOWN LIBRARY SUMMER CONCERTS
Catch Bill Joel Tribute banc Big Shot this Thursday evening starting at 8 on the front lawn of the Smithtown Library Main building. Concert goers should bring a chair or blanket to sit on. The series is made possible through a grant from Suffolk County, secured by Legis. Lynne C. Nowick.
