Successful Scout Car Wash Raises Cash for New American Flag

Cub Scout Pack 75 raises funds needed for a new American flag and makes a generous donation to the food pantry.

Like a Scout's honor, local Kings Park Cub Scout Pack 75 made good on their word and then some when they raised enough money to replace the American Flag that was stolen from Kings Park High school in September and had enough left over to donate to another worthy cause.

The Suffolk County police asked for the public's help this week offering a cash reward for anyone who has information that can help lead to an arrest of the two suspected men in this crime.

The troop's final fundraising number came in at a very symbolic $1,776 and allowed them purchase a new flag to replace the one stolen, but also for a generous donation to the food pantry for $1,103. Two local businesses, Target helped the boys reach their goals. Target donated $200 in gift cards and Dejana Truck and Utility Company gave $100.

"It was a great event and the boys worked very hard," said pack leader Jim Brauer. "I could not be more proud of them."
