Spotlight: The Hershey Creamery

With temperatures soaring, a visit to the in Kings Park is a delicious way beat the heat.

The Creamery, owned and operated by the Russo family of Kings Park, has been serving up frosty frozen treats for the past eight years. A small family owned business, Mom Rubyna decorates all the cakes. Dad Rocco and siblings Michael and Christina see to the daily operations of the store.

Located at 118 Main Street, the Creamery offers forty six flavors of Hershey Ice Cream, yogurt and Italian ices. There are cones, cups, sundaes, shakes, smoothies, ice cream sodas, root beer floats and, of course, banana splits.

From Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough to Rocky Road, there is a flavor to suit every ice cream connoisseur. The newest flavor to hit the showcase, Extreme Chocolate, is a rich, extreme dark chocolate ice cream. Store manager, Michael Russo says, “The most popular flavors are vanilla or chocolate Moose Tracks, but for the kids, it’s definitely the Playdough.”

There are tables and chairs in the store, or a bench out front, where you can sit and enjoy your treat. There is also a take home freezer with SpongeBob and Spiderman pops, prepackaged half gallons, flying saucers, big pops, mini bonnets, regular bonnets, and ice cream cakes.

The Creamery also offers Make Your Own Sundaes birthday parties, Brownie Troop meetings, and school events.

During the summer months, the Creamery is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
