Spotlight Event: Vasari Hair Salon Goes Pink

Show you care with a pink extension in your hair.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and a local hair salon will be doing their part to help fight the war on cancer.

Vasari Hair Salon, a family owned business, will be holding their 1st annual Vasari Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness event. For the entire month of October, Vasari Salon will be applying pink hair extensions in each participant’s hair. The extensions are $15 and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Owned by sisters Tina Benincasa-Golden and Kelly Benincasa, Vasari Salon has been servicing the community for the past 17 years.

“We are grateful to be at a place in our personal and professional lives where we can make time to be more involved in our community," said Benincasa.

"Being a new mom makes me appreciate how lucky I am to have a healthy family, more importantly this makes me more aware of those who aren't as fortunate as I am and I’m grateful to be able to give back, especially to a cause that I fully support," said Benincasa-Golden.

Each Saturday the salon will be holding a pink-themed event where they will be giving away pink ribbons, collecting donations to the cause, applying pink hair extensions, serving pink themed food, and having sales on merchandise to benefit the American Cancer Society.
