Smithtown Festival Day Set for Sunday

Smithtown's Chamner of Commerce says event will have more than 300 vendors and expects 18,000 guests.

One of the biggest events to hit Smithtown each year is set to take place Sunday as for the 24th year the is set to host Festival Day.

"It's an opportunity for business on Main Street, it's an opportunity for visitors to come to Main Street and interract with the community, to be entertained, visit and to enjoy the restaurants and enjoy Main Street's merchants," said .

Franco said there will be more than 300 vendors lining Main Street and she expects a crowd of 18,000.

Festival Day will take place Sunday from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

While providing some music, DJ Keith Alexander from EJ the DJ will be announcing the entertainment for the event. Entertainers include:

  • The Nesaquake Fiddle Club
  • The Smithtown High School East Trombone Quartet
  • The Smithtown High School West Jazz Choir
  • Smithtown HS Tri-M
  • Rock & Roll University Band
  • Dynamic Baton Twirling
  • Zumba lessons and a work-out session with Gold’s Gym
  • Sportime of Kings Park will provide a dance routine

There will be a first-time act to the day, the  Selden Cadets Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. The group has been performing for eight years and is a young group that travels the northeast. Also new to the day are the many car dealerships that will show off new model vehicles to all attendees, including  Smithtown Ford-Lincoln, Smithtown Toyota-Kia, Smithtown Nissen and Mercedes Benz.

Also during the day the Smithtown Center for Performing Arts will feature a performance of at 2 p.m. inside the theater.
