Local Boy Scouts may come knocking on your door, asking for food in March, the county's scout organization said this week.
In an announcement on Patch, the Suffolk County Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America said the drive is aimed at helping restock local food pantries and ties in with the organization's focus on community service.
"Their goal will be to collect more than 85,000 pounds of food donations that will be distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, and charitable organizations that feed the hungry across Long Island," the scouts said.
