Ramps Get Revamped Down at the Bluff

Three new floating docks hit the water.

Three new floating docks are in the process of being installed by the Kings Park Bluff boosting local boaters ability to get into the water unlike last season's single boat ramp.

An employee from Chesterfield Associates, the marine contracting and engineering firm hired by the Town of Smithtown to install the docks said that all three docks should be completed by the end of the week.

According to a Chesterfield employee working at the Bluff, there have been a few complaints by boaters regarding washers on the new docks scratching the sides of their boats as they launch, but according the the employee, this will soon be rectified by the dock's manufacturer.

Boaters using the ramp must have a permit, issued by the Town of Smithtown. Residents wising to obtain a permit must show a current boat registration in the name and address of a Smithtown resident. The permit costs $45 is good for both the Bluff ramps and the two ramps at Long Beach.
