Clear blue skies, warm temps and golden sunshine sent a few in Kings Park running for the docks on Friday.
While one man looked for the perfect spot to fish, another launched his kayak from the beach at Old Dock Road, just weeks after the Town of Smithtown denied the permit to a longtime kayak rental business that used to operate the docks due dangerous currents at the inlet.
Others launched their motorboats, fishing poles in tow, from the ramps, including one group of men who were just unwrapping their boat for the season.
Even a jellyfish could be spotted at the ramps drifting in the quick current as the tide came in.
We'd like to know if others in Kings Park have put their boats in the water yet ... or caught a big fish worthy of a fisherman's tale.
