Local Photogs Click, Create Club

The newly formed Kings Park photography club meets for the first time Thursday evening.

The surrounding areas of Kings Park have inspired a few camera owners to get out and capture the beauty of a sunset at the bluff, egrets at Sunken Meadow Park or visitors at the beach and on Thursday, locals will have a chance to exchange tips and advice about their hobby during the first meet up of the Kings Park photography club.

Organized by local photographer, Frank Mercuri, the club is open to anyone with an interest in photography.

“Some are interested in learning about their cameras and some are advanced in nature photography and some just take pictures I call snap shots,” said Mercuri.

The club will hold its first meeting on Thursday from 7- 8:45 p.m. at the Kings Park Library.

“This will be our first meeting to get acquainted and develop plans,” said Mercuri in an email. Mercuri said he is exploring the possibility to display some submissions from the club at Nissequogue River State Park in their administration building.
