Last Chance to Register for Smithtown Youth Winter Programs

Smithtown Youth Bureau offers a variety of classes that teach skills for teens.

Don't miss your chance to sign up your teen for one of Smithtown Youth Bureau's Winter Programs. 

Smithtown Youth Bureau is offering three different programs starting this upcoming week, as early as Tuesday, Jan. 7 All three programs are free to children of the appropriate ages.

Here is a full listing: 

*Babysitting Skills Club - 
This six-week course on Tuesday nights for teen in grades 7 - 10 will teach teens the necessary skills to be a successfull babysitter. Topics will include safety, nutrition, ages and stages of development, and work with Real Care babies. Students will receive a binder will all lessons and certificate at the end of the class.

*Character Education - 
This six-week course on Tuesday evenings is for children in grades 3 - 5 to give them the tools necessary to become the person they want to be. The class will go over respect, responsibility, fairness, citizenship and more.

*Community Conversation
Join with other teenagers in grades 9 - 12 to discuss immigration issues in the U.S. through the course of three sessions, starting Jan. 7. Students will read and discuss pieces on different aspects of immigration, including Smithtown's immigrant past.
