Kings Park Civic to Hear Two Proposals for Old Northport Road Developments

Kings Park Civic Association will hold an open meeting 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kings Park High School.

Kings Park Civic Association will focus their attention on two very different future proposals for land use along Old Northport Road. 

Kings Park Civic Association will hold their first meeting of 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kings Park High School in Community Room 101. The guest speakers will feature Mike Cox, a property owner along Old Northport Road, and Ken Henderson, owner of Prospect Sports. 

Cox will be sharing the details of his application before Smithtown Board of Zoning Appeals for multiple variances and exceptions to have outdoor storage and a trucking station on his Old Northport Road property. 

Henderson will share his group's plans to build a multi-sport performance park on the Santilli property, located at 350 Old Northport Road. The preliminary plans call for 5 outdoor lighted fields and an indoor facility.  As of Tuesday, no formal plans had been submitted to Smithtown Planning Department. 

In addition, the civic association is expected to discuss any updates on the proposed Uplands at St. Johnland and possible create a Downtown Revitalization committee.
