PHOTOS: Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony At Veterans Plaza

Music, lights, hot chocolate, candy canes and Santa come to town.

Christmas cheer, lights and music filled Kings Park Veterans Plaza for this year’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

The event, sponsored by the Kings Park Chamber of Commerce, drew more than 200 residents.

After Rev. Sean Gann’s blessing, Christmas music rang out - courtesy of the William T. Rogers Middle School 7th and 8th grade band, led by Beth LaFantano.

Kevin Denis of Professors Diner, master of ceremonies, led the countdown to the tree lighting, after which the big man himself, Santa Claus, made his appearance thanks to the Kings Park Fire Department.

Santa presented all the children with candy canes, while Andersen’s Deli donated hot chocolate and cookies, which were enjoyed by all.
