I learned there was a reservour on the grounds of the KPSC near the flagpole. Could this be the area?

The pond across from St. Johnland Nursing Home.

This is now the woods and pond on the south side of St. Johnland road across from the main complex at St. Johnland. I don't think the building seen in the background is still there. The car looks like the picture was was taken in the late forties or early fifties.

I was thinking the same thing, has to be across from the Nursing Home. There is a large body of water right off the road. Sure looks like it.

i believe that is the pond opposite St. Johnland Nursing Home. The road the 2 people are walking on is Cottage Road now closed. The two people walking appear to be women and since they are both wearing pants and possibly sneakers I would guess the picture was taken in the 70's or 80's. The building in the background was called The Inn and was torn down after St. Johnland built it's new building in the late 70's.

The pond across from the nursing home is on the south side of St. Johnland road as are the telephone poles. In this image the poles are on the opposite side of the road from the pond.

On the far side of the pond you can see the barn for St. Johnland. I was a member of the KP Fire Dept when it burned down. Also there was a road from Cottage Rd that went to Staff Houses for St. Johnland when it was a Orphanage. The houses were behind the Roundtable (Shanahans). When the homes were abandoned they had chickens and each morning you heard less of them. I guess the foxes and other wild animals got them. I know the foundations for the houses were still there many years ago. Just a little history.

We have a bunch of correct guesses on this one and a side of history to boot! This photo was taken in 1960 on Cottage Rd, near St Johnland. Location of this is behind the Roundtable, or today's Shanahan's.
