Family Heartbroken Over Missing Dog

Bella, a 13-year-old mini-pinscher, is lost and believed to be in the Commack area.

A heartbroken family refuses to give up on finding their lost dog that the family believes is in Commack.

Bella, a mini-pinscher from Las Vegas, was visiting the Smithtown area with her owner when it is believed she escaped from the backyard of the grandparents home where she was staying. She has been missing since April 27. 13-year-old Bella is deaf and is losing her sight.

Tracking dogs were used and the scent, according to owner Cristina Pace, stopped abruptly at Astor Court and Verbana Drive in Commack. The family believes she is in this area.

"Our little girls are waiting to reunite with our sweet Bella. If someone unknowingly has her, now they may know," said Pace.

Family friend Janet Ly believes that someone may have Bella, believing she has been abandoned.

“I feel so very sure someone has Bella. The tracking dogs aren't capable of lying and when the scent stops a dog has to have been lifted away,” said Ly.  “If her collar had come off, someone may be clueless this old girl has a home.  Many see the old ones as an abandonment case and never check for chip or ads.  And sometimes, tags are removed ...it's hard to know who a person is dealing with.”

The family has set up a Facebook page with information on Bella. If you have any information on Bella you can call 702 373 0395.
