Event Spotlight: Yankee Doodle Circus Comes to Town

The event is to benefit the Kings Park High School Varsity Club.

The Yankee Doodle Circus is coming to town hosted by the Kings Park High School Varsity Club on Wednesday.

The show, a fundraiser for the club, features; Wilson’s Wonder Dogs are a laughable, lovable canine troupe that are featured with the Yankee Doodle Circus after a successful tour with the Broadway musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Joanne Wilson spends her days feeding, grooming and practicing with her dogs, many of whom were rescued from animal shelters.

The Amazing Gary Sladek is an award-winning acrobat who has appeared in 19 countries with his breath-taking 22 feet tall tower of chairs balancing act. The dashing and daring athletic appeared with the Yankee Doodle Circus 9 years ago.

“I am very happy to be back with Yankee Doodle, it is a great place to perform," said Sladek in a release.
Sladek started his career after participating with the gymnastic team at the State University of New York at Farmingdale. “I started on the East Coast and have traveled all the way to the Far East, my career is always going around in circles.”
Audience members will meet Tom Thumb, a full-grown miniature horse who stands just 29 inches at his shoulders. Clever and very intelligent he is a natural performer and knows when he sees his colorful trappings that the show is about to begin and he gets a few moments in the spot light.

“We’re the kid-friendly circus because the children will be entertained without being overwhelmed.” said Mike Naughton, circus director.

Naughton started his career when he attended the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. He is the ringmaster at the circus.

“I’ve spent a few decades entertaining children and have designed the show to appeal to the kids especially. The children respond enthusiastically to the color and quick-pace of the show," said Naughton in a release.

Two free kids tickets are given with each adult ticket purchased in advance for $17. Circus Day Box Office prices are: $22. for adults and $15. for kids under 14. The varsity club receives a portion of the ticket sales. Tickets can be purchased at GetCircusTickets.com

Apparently you are not the only one this is happening to. From what I understand if these signs areRead More on a main drag somehow they are disappearing in the middle of the night. Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
