Event Spotlight: Hope For Alivia Trust Fundraiser

A new handicapped van needed.

A fundraiser for Alivia Holmes will be held this Friday evening.

Alivia was paralyzed in a car accident in 2009 at the age of sixteen. Alivia’s mom, Laura Ayres, left her job as a nurse to care for her daughter.

“I have been Alivia's sole caregiver, and therefore without an income this entire time,” explains Ayers. "The uncovered expenses are unbelievable and so we rely on fundraising to meet some of these needs.”

The proceeds of this fundraiser will help replace their ailing 1995 handicap accessible van, which is Alivia's only means of transportation.

Ayers reveals, “This is Alivia's only means of transportation and I couldn't bear it if she were house-bound - in addition to being wheelchair bound.”

The event will include a Chinese auction, 50/50, spin-the-wheel, raffles, appetizers, and a cash bar. Long Island Psychic Sue will also be on hand.
