'Tis the season for holiday celebrations and annual traditions. The Kings Park Chamber of Commerce will host the annual tree and menorah lighting to take place in December.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. at Veterans Plaza. The man in red will make an appearance, by way of the Kings Park Fire Department, with candy canes in hand. Andersen's Deli will supply a little warmth with hot chocolate and cookies, while the William T. Rogers Middle School band and chorus provide Christmas carols, under the direction of Beth LaFantano.
A Hanukkah Festival will take place Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. with the symbolic lighting of the menorah. Chocolate Hanukkah gelt and dreidels will be given and music will be provided by the Kings Park High School Orchestra under the direction of Jon Nowak.
