Community Lights Town Menorah to Celebrate Hanukkah

First candle lit in ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park on Sunday.

The holiday season has arrived in Kings Park, and lighting the way is the town's menorah.

Kings Park Chamber of Commerce and Kings Park Jewish Center came together on Sunday with the community to light the town's menorah in Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street.

The Kings Park High School Chamber Orchestra and a vocal group of local middle school and high school students entertained those gathered with traditional Jewish songs to celebrate the arrival of Hanukkah.

Tony Tanzi, president of Kings Park Chamber of Commerce, was asked to do the honor of lighting the first candle.

Chabad of Mid-Suffolk and under Rabbi Mendy Teldon donated menorah sets and donuts that were given out to those present.

Following the ceremony, the community crossed the street to celebrate the lighting of the menorah in front of the Kings Park Fire Department.
