On the one year anniversary of Sandy, we asked readers on our Facebook page how long they were without power and how they coped. Here's a few of the responses:
Rory Prager Brown: 1 week, no generator lol but thankfully we had the gas stove and gas hot water heater!
Anne Kash: We were out for 5-6 days. We had a gas stove then, we had hot coffee, heat and food. Had to cook all the freezer food so we were quite warm.
Eileen Szurnicki: Lost power for 8 days but bought a generator after 3 days. It was cold !!
John Ottaviano: Two weeks. I didn't cope well at all.
