# 87 - Candlelight Yoga At Simplicity Yoga Studio

 The warm weather brings with it not only long anticipated tulips and daffodils, but spring cleaning, school sports and those long overdue outside projects. With all there is to do with the changing seasons, it’s nice to take an hour or so to relax, clear the mind, and rejuvenate the body. It’s for this reason candlelight yoga at Simplicity Yoga Studio on Main Street is # 87 on our list of 100 Things To Do In Kings Park.

Maybe it is the minimalist decor or the warm lighting, maybe it is the sweet aroma. The studio has a pecefulness to it and stress seems to melt as students walk through the door.

The Friday evening yoga class, complete with candles and soft music, is “a nice way to unwind from the week,” says owner and registered yoga instructor, Rosanne Sihler. “It’s a gentle class, good for all levels.”

“It is so much fun and couples are welcome,” she says.

“Yoga has many benefits,” explains Sihler, “including stress relief, increased flexibility and weight management.”

Kings Park resident, Tina Schneider, agrees. “It’s one of the best classes they have, especially that it’s at the end of the week and you can wind down, exhale and take a moment to yourself, a moment that you deserve.”

Teri Brogden travels all the way from Wading River for the candlelight class. “I love this place,” she says. “You instantly get a serene feeling when you walk in the door. It’s instant peace.”

Along with candlelight yoga, Simplicity offers a variety of other classes all week long, for every level of experience. Meditation and Pilates classes are also available. Walk ins are welcome.
