#81 – Antiquing On Main

Hidden treasures can be found in downtown Kings Park.

For those adventurous at heart who fondly recall as youngsters exploring their grandparents’ attics and the excitement of finding hidden treasures, antiquing is a way to revive that delightful childhood sensation.

If you’re a first time shopper or a recreational hobbyist, Main Street is a great place to spend some time.

Treasure Bay Antiques is owned by Stephanie Gebert and Robert Bottie. Marking its four year anniversary on Main Street this August, this treasure-filled shop houses an eclectic mix of antiques and collectibles.

Vintage jewelry fills several showcases in the store. The aisles are brimming with artwork, statutes, tea cups, vases, silver, books, figurines and much more.

Specializing in military items, Treasure Bay carries antique swords, knives, bayonets, flags, patches, hats, rifles and medals.

For the airplane enthusiasts, there is an array of flight jackets, wings, goggles and squadron patches. Grumman items, as well as vintage firefighting equipment, can also be found.

Co-owner Stephanie Gebert explains why she likes the antique business so much. “You recycle products from our past, while learning about our history.”

For your treasures, “you can spend as little as a few dollars and as much as thousands,” explains Gebert.

Treasure Bay not only sells antiques but buys and trades as well. It is open weekends between 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and by appointment.

If books are your passion, a trip next store to Fisher of Books may be worth your while. In business for over twenty years, this jam-packed store carries old books, artwork, antiques and collectibles.
