4 Haunted Happenings for Kids in Kings Park

Celebrate Halloween safely with your children at these local events

It's come time  little witches and goblins want to run around  trick-or-treating, while parents want to ensure their child's safety.

Many local high schools, malls and local organizations are hosting Halloween events this weekend to allow Kings Park families to celebrate this spooky holiday without any unnecessary scares. 

Here's a list of local child-friendly events happening this weekend: 

  • Haunted House
    Date: Friday, Oct. 25
    Time: 5 p.m.- 6 p.m ages 10 and under, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m all ages
    Where: Kings Park High School
    Description: Kings Park High School's Music Department will host their annual Haunted House on Friday night from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. for children age 10 and under, from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. for all ages. 

  • Ghost and Goblins Day
    Date: Saturday, Oct. 26
    Time: 10 a.m. - noon
    Where: Brady Park on Maple Avenue, Smithtown
    Description: Town of Smithtown children up to third grade are invited to Brady Park to join in the town's costume parade, pony rides, music and more. Admission is free, but non-perishable food items are being collected for the Smithtown Food Drive. 

  • Halloween Parade
    Date: Sunday, Oct. 27
    Time: 12:30 line-up, 1 p.m. parade start
    Where: Capital Bank in St. James, off Woodland and Lake Avenue
    Description: Join the St. James Chamber of Commerce for their annual Halloween parade. Line up at 12:30 p.m. in front of Capital One Bank off Woodlawn and Lake Avenue. Parade starts at 1 p.m. and will end at the St. James Gazebo. 

  • Halloween at Smith Haven Mall
    Date: Saturday, Oct. 26
    Time: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 
    Where: Smith Haven Mall, Lake Grove, NY
    Description: Join the Smith Haven Mall for an afternoon of Halloween fun featuring kids-friendly crafts, pumpkin and mask decorating, and recent seasonal movies. Children and encouraged to wear costumes. Radio Disney will be providing the music.
