Common Core Roundtable, Election Primaries Tuesday in Kings Park

• Registered Republican and Conservative voters head to the polls to choose which candidate will run  in this November's elections.
  
  
• Smithtown Town Board will hold the first of its two town board meetings in September at 2 p.m. The full agenda will be available on the town's website.
  
  
• Kings Park School officials will host a roundtable discussion with parents at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the Common Core Standards at Kings Park High School. 
  
  
• Town of Smithtown's Board of Zoning Appeals will host its first meeting of September at 7 p.m. at the Eugene Canataro Senior Citizen Center. 
  
  
• The Kings Park Board of Education will host its first meeting of the 2013-14 school year at 8 pm., following the Common Core roundtable discussion. 

• Congressman Steve Israel made clear his position on Syria: "no boots-on-the-ground."  How do you feel about his decision?
