Bullet Found on Kings Park School Bus

According to an email sent to parents Monday night, bullet appears to be from World War II.

A bullet was found on a Kings Park school bus on Monday morning, according to an email blast sent from the Kings Park School District to parents on Monday evening.

The bullet, according to the email, was four inches long, and appears to have been manufactured before World War II. The bullet is now in the possession of police who were notified by the district.

The district is asking that anyone who may have information regarding the found bullet to contact the principal of their child's school.

Below is the email that was sent to parents.

Good evening.
I want to inform you of a safety issue we are addressing today.  A bullet was found on one of our buses this morning. The bullet is about 4 inches long and appears to have been manufactured before World War II for a German rifle. As a precaution we talked with students who ride that bus and searched their lockers and back packs. Nothing else was found.  The police were called and have the bullet in their possession. If you have any information that could help us resolve how this bullet ended up on one of our buses, please contact me or the principal of your child’s school.
Thank you for your assistance.
